Graduate Degree Programs for Christian Scholars
Our interdisciplinary degree programs (MLitt and DPhil) prepare Christian leaders in the social professions to integrate faith/learning and religion/society by means of original social research.

Our degree programs are designed to assist professionals like you in being effective in the real world, because, after all, that’s the world in which you work, live, and serve. Oxford Graduate School offers the Doctor of Philosophy in the Sociological Integration of Religion and Society and two Master of Letters degree programs. In the doctoral program, you will focus on integrating expertise gained in sociology and social research methods with your Christian worldview and praxis; in the master’s program, you can choose a focus in family life education or nonprofit/NGO leadership as an expression of your Christian faith. OGS’s carefully planned program is designed to enable you to become a socially active Christian scholar within your current profession and spheres of influence. In fact, the entire educational curriculum at OGS facilitates an interdisciplinary doctoral program that combines two disciplines – religion and social science research. By the completion of the doctoral program of studies, you are equipped to engage your profession by using social research methodology to address real world problems in a holistic fashion from a Christian perspective. OGS expects you to employ the skills you learn in holistic social research not for the sole purpose of achieving a doctorate degree, but to engage in life-long learning in order to affect change in the world around us. Our Doctor of Philosophy (DPhil) program combines a major emphasis in Social Science Theories and Research Methods with another chosen by the student between Philosophy (Faith Learning Integration) and Leadership. Further, you can combine studies in the other of two secondary majors (as a minor with Applied Research) to become a lifelong learner equipped to serve as a Christian leader. |
