OGS Alumnus Ken Schmidt Publishes Chapter in Vietnam War Textbook

OGS Alumnus Ken Schmidt, a Professor of History at Brandman University (Modesto, CA) recently published a chapter in a textbook on the Vietnam War.  Congratulations to Dr. Schmidt for his accomplishment!

Congratulations to OGS faculty member, Dr. Matt Vos, for recent scholarly publications

Sociology Professor Matthew Vos has recently had two works accepted for publication.  His article "The Digital Embrace: College Students and Technology in a Howzitgoing World" was accepted for publication in Sociological Imagination (the journal of the Wisconsin Sociological Association) and will appear in their September issue.  Further, his review of Shirl J.


Alumnus Carl Ellis presents "The Rise of Nihilism and Loss of Identity" for the National Heritage Foundation

Dr. Carl Ellis, Oxford Graduate School Alumnus, delivered a lecture for the Heritage Foundation entitled "The Rise of Nihilism and Loss of Identity: An Analysis of a Cultural Crisis Among African-Americans".  The lecture can be found at the following location:

OGS Alumnus Publishes Article in Journal for Correctional Education

Oxford Graduate School extends its congratulations to Holisa Alewine (DPhil, 2007) for her recent publication of a scholarly research article in the Journal for Correctional Education.  Dr. Alewine focused her dissertation research at OGS on correctional education.

Oxford Graduate School Alumnus Featured in Sports Illustrated and in Rhea Herald News

In an August 2010 issue of Sports Illustrated, Ken Ruettgers, 2007 graduate of Oxford Graduate School, told of the importance of his Oxford Graduate School experience to his work with retired professional athletes.  The Sports Illustrated article spawned a local interest in Dayton, Tennessee in knowing more about the students and happenings at Oxford Graduate School.  Read the article about Ruettgers and the importance of Oxford Graduate School in preparing professionals for world changing actions.
